The food bank is located at 51 Slick Fisher Rd., Lake Toxaway and is open from 10:00 am until 12:00 every other Saturday.  The food bank is operating as a “drive through” food distribution, therefore they ask that all customers remain in their vehicle instead of coming inside the food bank to “shop” for items.  The volunteers will sign you in from your parked car, then they will bring out the boxes of food and place them in your vehicle.   Even if you have never used the food bank before and/or you do not qualify as low income but are temporarily out of work due to the current situation, you are welcome to come and receive food until you have returned to work.

Bands for 2022:

May 13 Junction 280 Band.

Formed in 2010, Junction 280 has undergone many changes in its makeup and sound.  Beginning in late 2016, they "reformed" and are now comprised of Robbie Laughter on Banjo, Cliff Searcy on Dobro & Mandolin, Taylor Warren on Fiddle & Guitar and Barry Walker on Upright Bass.  Utilizing the unique contributions of its members, the band has stepped up to a different level.    Taylor Warren, a longtime son of Mills River, lends his fiddle expertise and unique voice to the band.  Cliff Searcy is a delightful musician who keeps everyone on their toes and adds wonderful humor to the mix. Original members Robbie Laughter on Banjo (and one of the few banjo players who can sing while playing) and Barry Walker holding down the rhythm on Bass, round out this exciting new rendition of Junction 280.
